It can send and receive texts and calls, but nothing much more than that. Like the original phone, however, the device’s battery can last a month. The phone is powered by Nokia’s own proprietary “Series 30+” operating system, and includes a 2-megapixel camera and a basic version of the Opera browser that I didn’t even realise was still a thing. Revealed during the company’s press conference at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona over the weekend, the new Nokia 3310 features a glossy plastic shell casing, a 2.4-inch 240 x 320 colour display, and 2.5G data support like it’s 2005. Why? I dunno, but it’s maximising its retro authenticity with no WiFi, so that’s… something. And now, almost 20 years later, it’s back. I didn’t have one, obviously, because I wasn’t cool enough. Mostly because of Snake, but also because the thing was totally indestructible and its battery lasted forever. I’m old enough to remember when the Nokia 3310 was, like, the phone.
